Every week, after the 30% water change (reverse osmosis), re-dosing Tropicas N and P + Aquatic Nature traces 2,5 ml of each.

37 liter planted nano-cube

I set-up (9th Jan 2007) this lovely Aquatic Nature's "Evolution" nano-cube at my work, as a show off for our customers. We are very satisfied with Aquatic Nature products. This lay-out would look much better if the heather was hidden, but the plan was to show every peace of the equipment to our customers.

Aquarium- Aquatic Nature "Evolution" 37 liters.
Substrtae - Aquatic Nature Decoline Ferti-soil black
Lights - 2x 11W fluorescent compact white and red 9 hours on
CO2 - on for 9 hours, 1 bubble per sec. pressurised, Aquatic Nature set.
Fertilisation- every day three drops of the Aquatic Nature's +Activator24
Fauna; 9 Hyphessobrycon rosaceus, 2 Otocinclus, 2 Amano shrimps.
Flora; Java moss on two pieces of bog wood, Rotala rotundifolia, Microsorum Windelow, Alternathera reineckii, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, Cryptocoryne spp. (front left), Lilly.
Decor - two yellowish stones
Temp 27'C
Water change - 25% weekly

The new aquascape;

Lighting: 2x 30W fluorescent tubes; 12 hours a day
Filtration: standard Juwel filter
CO2: DIY CO2 Yeast reactor 2x (recently stopped, switched to low tech)
Substrate: 2-5mm English pea gravel - white/yellow + added in front a layer of black gravel
Decorations: 1x Bog wood, lots of rocks
Water changes: weekly 25% + dechlorinator Aqua Safe; recently decided to do monthly water change, low tech
Background: Photo of a rocky riverbank
Heater: standard Juwel
Fertilisation: PMDD and Tropica Macter Grow every week 20ml of each (4 bottles) - recently started adding monthly 18ml of PMDD (3 bottles) because no CO2 is added.
Plants: Hygro polysperma, Hygro Rozanervig, Amazon Sword (Echinodorus bleheri known ''Paniculatus''), Java Fern (Microsorum pteropus ''Narrow'') and Anubias barteri nana.
Inhabitants: 2x Golden Angels, 2x Siamese Algae Eaters, 2x Otocinclus, 11x Cardinal tetras, 5x Caridina japonica (Amano shrimp), a few Malaysian Trumpet snails.

The old/first aquascape;

Lighting: 2x 30W fluorescent tubes; 12 hours a day
Filtration: standard Juwel filter
CO2: No (my plants would do better if CO2 was added)
Substrate: 2-5mm English pea gravel - white/yellow
Decorations: 2x Bog wood
Water changes: weekly 25% + dechlorinator Aqua Safe

Fertilisation: No (the reason my plants suffered a very bad nutrient deficiency)
Plants: Hygro polysperma, Hygro Siamensis 53B, Hygro Rozanervig, Cardamine lyrata, Java moss, Alternanthera reineckii roseafolia, Bacopa australis, Ceratopteris thalictroides (Water sprite), Egeria densa.
Inhabitants: 2x Golden Angels, 2x Siamese Algae Eaters, 2x Otocinclus, 11x Cardinal tetras, 5x Caridina japonica (Amano shrimp), a few Malaysian Trumpet snails.

Lighting: 2x 7w Compact fluorescent; 12 hours a day
Filtration: internal filter - UNI-Filter 280 from a Polish company AquaEL
CO2: No
Substrate: black gravel
Decorations: Rocks (personally collected in the wild) and Oak leaf litter (Quercus robur)
Water changes: weekly 25% + dechlorinator Aqua Safe
Background: DIY black paper
Heater: no heater, room temperature between 22 and 26 Celsius
Fertilisation: every month 2ml of each PMDD (3 bottles), will reduce after 6 month when the tank matures (aquarium mulm)
Plants: Java fern (Microsorum pteropus), Java moss (Vesicularia dubyana) and Hygrophila polysperma ' Rosanervig '
Inhabitants: a group of Red Cherry Shrimps (Neocaridina denticulata sinensis-red), a group of Malaysian Trumpet snails, a few Red Ramshorn snails, 20 Boraras maculatus, a group of Caridina "Cristal Red" shrimps, various worms and microorganisms.
